Friday Freebie—the Frypod

May 28th, 2010

Last week, on one of the really bad days, my husband treated us to dinner from Burger King. He and the youngest got fries. I didn’t (though I snagged a few of theirs). But what I did get was

THE FRYPOD

(That’s what they call the new container for fries. The name is printed on the side. Although I don’t know how new it is. Could be years old but I’d not seen it before, to notice it) I didn’t take a pic of the original—it was greasy and not too cute, other than its shape.

I fell in love with the shape. Curved! The only tight folds are the base. The one thing I couldn’t seem to duplicate was the curve to the bottom (it’s a bit convex) but I think that’s in the way I folded it. It’s easy to figure out. Four folds and some tape.

I made one for a friend’s birthday. We put flowers in it but I forgot to take pix of that—anyway, Miriam brought so many flowers they overwhelmed my frypod and the poor thing fell over.

So I made another one so I could take a pic with a flower in it. Also, I realized I wanted to use double-sided cardstock (K&Co again) to show off the sweet inside.

Oh—those mischievous fairies! Look at that—Monet just loves to snuggle into all kinds of containers and she got Little Red to join her.

Ok, here we are with the flower.

It can hold a fair sized gift, or candy (LOTS of candy, so beware) or **gasp** fries. Not that I would put something so greasy in my frypod. If you do use it for food, use something to protect the paper from the grease and to keep the ink from the food. Scrapbook paper is NOT foodsafe.

If you want the SVG, please sign up for my blog and leave a comment. If you’re already a subscriber, leave a comment to let me know you want the file. I’ll email it to you as soon as possible.

As always, this is my design, copyright to me. You can make these for sale items or for publication, no charge but I’d like you to acknowledge paperfacesdesigns. Please don’t share the file. If someone else would like it refer them to my site. Many thanks!

And if you’d like either Monet or Little Red, check out paperfacesdesigns on Etsy. I’ll be offering them soon.
